Which one? Walk-in Tub, or Barrier Free Shower

Many people want to "age in place" at the home they love.  No one wants to move, especially from a home we're used to and have enjoyed while working hard for years to complete the mortgage payment.  But, many people face just that.  Often times, one of the reasons that seniors must move or sell is because of growing dependence on others or caregivers, to complete basic hygiene, showering, etc.

Access Mobility Equipment can help you remain more independent in the bathroom of the home you love.

Our products and services that can help with this are:

Tub Cut: make your existing tub a walk in tub within one day and under $2500.

Bath Lift: make getting in and out of your tub, and down to bath soaking level, as easy as pushing a button. Lifts fit almost any tub and cost under $1500 usually

Walk-in Bathtub:  replace your existing tub with a tall soaking tub with an easy to step through door.  These tubs have features such as water massage jets, air massage jets, personal bidet, aromatherapy, rapid drain, etc.  These installations are typically complete in 1-2 days for a wide range of prices beginning from $5000.00. (Do not let high pressure salesmen from a company selling tubs on television convince you to buy a $12,000 - $18,000 project .... this is way overpriced but it is very common)

Barrier Free Shower:  like to stand for your shower or use a shower seat in a standard shower but you have trouble stepping over the threshold into the shower?  Want to roll your shower chair into the shower area?  A barrier free shower, sometimes called a roll-in shower might be for you.  These are usually complete in 1-2 days and range in price from $5000.00

Other items such as bathroom grab bars, handicap ADA commodes, wheelchair accessible sinks, etc can all also help keep seniors safe in the bathroom.

Many people have trouble deciding between a walk-in bathtub or barrier free roll-in shower.  Access Mobility Equipment is here to help.

Benefits of walk-in bathtub:

This list and article are merely suggestions and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of possible options for bathroom accessibility.   Let us meet with you to discuss your specific needs to determine the best solution for you, personally.
