Most step-in showers today have at least some barrier to step over to enter the shower. For some people, even a small two inch step is enough to create a barrier preventing safe access. Our goal is always maximum safety and barrier free access to all areas of the house, especially problem areas like the shower where a lot of falls occur.

We started by removing the existing fiberglass shower insert. This gave us the ability to enlarge the floor space in the shower. The floor under the shower was slightly lowered to give us the ability to slope our floor for proper drainage. The floor and walls were rebuilt and tiled. A folding shower chair was permanently installed on the wall opposite the fixtures. A hand held shower and grab bars were added for comfort and added safety.
