Vertical Platform Wheelchair Lift Elevator

This particular customer initially called Access Mobility Equipment in Fredericksburg, VA to evaluate the residence for a wheelchair ramp. The height to the entry door inside the garage was 58" which would require too lengthy of a ramp for inside the garage. The height at the main front entry was even higher and more undesirable because of the appearance from curbside. So, in this case a platform lift was a very good option, The footprint of a platform lift is very small relative to the height of rise it can handle lifting straight up.
One challenge here was the steps went straight to the door so there was no landing or turning space coming off the lift and into the door. Our crew removed the existing steps and constructed a 5' x 5' ADA Compliant landing at the door threshold level. The steps were then added back to the platform on facing the same direction. Finally we installed the lift so that the carriage ends on the side of the platform making for easy entry and exit for our customer using his wheelchair or walker,

Vertical Platform Wheelchair Elevator
